BUILDING USE POLICY

The guidelines listed below have been developed for individuals or groups that request the use of Oahe Presbyterian Church facilities.

Arranging for Use:

Persons desiring to use the church facilities should contact the pastor or the chairperson of the Buildings & Grounds Committee. A “Facilities Use Arrangements Form” will be completed to clarify the use request.

Authorization for Facilities Use:

Requests for use of facilities shall be presented by the Buildings and Grounds Committee for authorization by the Session at a regularly scheduled meeting.

If the use of the facility is for the funeral of a non-member, the pastor may approve the use of the facility if the pastor is conducting the service.

Fees: (No one will be denied use of the facilities or services because of their inability to pay.)

  • For Members: There will be no charge to any group in the church or any group related to the church (Presbytery, Ministerium, etc.
  • For Non-Members fees will be as follows:
    • No fees will be charged to community non-profit organizations/groups approved by the Session.
    • All other groups will be charged $50 for use of the lower lever of the church per event.
    • For the meeting room, there will be a charge of $25 per half day and $50 for a full day.
  • Fees are payable on or before the day of the event. Checks should be made payable to Oahe Presbyterian church and given to the pastor or chairman of the Buildings & Grounds Committee.

Obligations of Those Using the Facilities

All individuals or groups using the church facilities will be responsible for the following:

  • Setting up equipment and putting it back in its place.
  • Ensuring that all trash is bagged and deposited in the church waste bin located outside.
  • Promptly cleaning of facilities for the next scheduled event.
  • Turning off all lights and fans.
  • Ensuring that all doors are locked and borrowed keys returned.
  • Repairing or replacing any unreasonable damage to the facilities or equipment.
  • No alcoholic beverages are permitted in the building or on church grounds at any time.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the church building.
